Meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Transfer to the funicular station and ascent to the mountain. You will get to the height of 399 m. A magnificent view will appear before you from the summit. On a clear day it is possible to see the open sea far behind the islands to the west of Bergen. Numerous routes along the trails across the plateau with moderate ascents and descents commence from the mountain top. The hike begins. You are suggested to take a route to Mt. Blåmanen (554 m a.s.l., i.e. a 155-metre ascent from Mt. Fløyen) with a view on fjords, Bergen suburbs, mountains, and mountain lakes. It takes about 1 hour to reach Mt. Blåmanen. There you can take a rest break and have a snack. Then comes the descent. First you will head on to one of the Seven Mountains that surround Bergen, Sandviksfjellet (417 m a.s.l.). There is an open deck with a view on the city fjord and Bergen nearby. You will get there in 1-1.5 hours at a leisurely pace. After Sandviksfjellet, you will make a descent to the old military fortifications Sandviksbatteriet. Another stunning view waits for you there.
Further on you will go down from the mountains to Bergen’s district Sandviken.
